This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 23, 2008:
Pachelbel's canon (the song made famous in the movie "Ordinary People" and is played a lot this time of year by Johann Pachelbel). Even without words, its melody stirs something of hope in me, a semi-sadness of longing, but always that peace is within me, and if I look for it, I can find peace outside of me as well.

Help

I have always loved this song! It is so calming. Whenever I feel upset, I can listen to the song and somehow feel better, so much more relaxed. I think this reason is because I think of marriage when I hear this song (mostly subconsciously). And that does bring hope of something bigger, brighter, and if the world were perfect, ever-lasting love.
